just a couple more pics

The rocking chair....loved by everyone in the family! We moved it from the living room to Peanut's room.... Followed by Peanut's crib.

One more room to do....

Samantha so kindly gave up her room and moved in with Alyssa, and now we have room for Peanut! Everyone has helped to put this room together. We went with a nice cheery yellow, complimented with lots of special touches. Grandma Miller spent a couple of days painting, Grandma Armstrong put her talents to work making Peanut a lovely baby jungle animal blanket, the girls and I did some paintings on canvass, and my wonderful husband did lots of the little nitty gritty work. With all our efforts I think Peanut will love their new room... All we need now is Peanut to arrive.

Samantha painted the monkey, I did the tiger, Thalia did the elephant and Alyssa did the lion and giraffe.....

Peanut has inherited Daddy's childhood dresser, just a little updating with some crisp clean white paint....

A couple additions.....

Just after Christmas the girls inherited a couple of little creatures, known as Lemon Pepper Armstrong, and Sea salt Armstrong. For short we lovingly call them "Pepper" and "Salty". They are wee little Russian hamsters, at first Salty's personality was a little snippy however now she has developed into quite a lovely girl. Pepper right from the get go has been a little monster..... always on the go! We haven't had too many issues with our new additions, except for a few sleepless nights! Once we all call it a night, they of course decide it's the start of their day, and their exercise program! It didn't take tooooo long before we ran out and bought a silent exercise wheel.... Now everyone can sleep through the night, and Pepper and Salty can work on their girlish figures!

spring cleaning never ends......

So now that Alyssa and Samantha have a new room, we have made some changes for Thalia too... She now has her own room for which she has plenty of space to play, and leave her toys scattered around. Now Alyssa doesn't need to worry about breaking her neck in the middle of the night, as she maneuvers around the obstacle course of little ponies and barbie bodies.... Thalia of course knows exactly how to manage the course!!!!

Spring cleaning....shaking out the dust

So it's that time of year when everyone is busy with the spring cleaning and shaking out of the dust bunnies. Here at the Armstrong household it was a big feat for all. Not only did all of us participate is a cleaning frenzy, which I'm positive not a single person enjoyed, but we also had some moving of bedrooms. As the day quickly approaches for Peanuts arrival the girls so kindly have made some changes. The playroom had been renovated into a new space for which Alyssa and Samantha now share as their bed room. No more bunk bed for Alyssa, as now she has her own single right beside her sister. We also have made one area of the room into a craft/homework area, I would say an area enjoyed by all the girls.....

Samantha is against the wall and Alyssa is right beside her....

The activity area...crafts, homework, play station......

And also and secret attic hide-a-way......an additional play and storage area for the girls to just get away and hide....

Up the wall

I know it's been a while since we updated the blog, and I send our apologies to all that have been checking in....Hopefully you will enjoy the latest peek into the going ons of the Armstrong Gang. Over the last couple of months we have had two birthdays, Thalia in February she turned 9 and Samantha turned 12 at the beginning of March.

For their birthdays they wanted to go rock climbing, so they pulled out their gift cards from my brother and off we went. All three girls were fitted with the climbing gear and had an instructor guiding them on their two hour adventure. Both Heath and I watch with smiles as all three managed to scale the wall just like little spiders. We could hear little huff, puffs, and groans but once they reached the top of the wall there was nothing but a face full of smiles. I would say it was an experience that was enjoyed by all!!

A peek at Alyssa reaching the top...

Next came Samantha, hard to tell but she made it up a wall that had a triangular obstacle..
And finally Thalia, with that great big smile of accomplishment.....way to go Thalia!
