Last night the family was treated to an art exhibition at the University of Victoria. What made this extra special was that Alyssa had a piece of her artwork there. The exhibition featured pieces from the grade nine art students at Alyssa's school. The theme for the night was conflict, each piece represented a conflict ranging from "Beauty being painful" to "Nature verse humans" and the Alyssa's piece was about "Propellers causing danger for our marine life". In her piece she depicted this by drawing a shark that had been cut by a propeller. The medium she used was soft oil pastel. Hope you enjoy a peek at her work.

Wow, Alyssa, what an honour. Congrats!!!!!
Let Alyssa know that I still have her picture she drew of Jasmine when she came to visit in the summer. I'm holding on to that one in case it is worth something one day!
Excellent work Alyssa!
