Road trip 2007.....

Our road trip begins! Enjoying a lovely lunch just outside of Cache Creek. Heath did a wonderful job finding us a picturesque place for lunch. Too bad you couldn't experience our Blog in smell-a-vison...because it wasn't too long after setting up for luch we discovered we were dining beside a dead deer, not to mention an ants nest!!! HA HA HA a perfect picnic...
After lunch we pushed ahead for Barkerville.....pulling rather late but very excited to spend the day in the old city.

A little candy from the Gerneral Store...

A little thunder and lightening never hurt anyone....did it?

Gold panning in Barkerville....Striking it rich.

Our new friend the prospector helping the girls find their shiny gold....."best smile for me to keep helping you little lady, or else I'm going for a coffee break"!

A day with friends....

After two nights of thunder, lightening and leaky tents a quick visit to Prince George was well received. We visited our good friends Matt, Jasmine and Jennifer, who just happened to be well into her 9th month... baby anyday! A special thanks for the warm bed and yummy dinner.

A warm hug between friends...

Mount Robson........to Jasper......and beyond....

Mount Robson, after spending a couple crumby nights sleeping in the rain, we were overjoyed to arrive at Mount Robson and see blue skys. We decide to use Lucerne Lake campground as a base camp, so we could then take a couple day trips into Jasper. Beautiful campsite, however the mosquitos where a pain in everyones butt.

White water rafting anyone????

Once in Jasper National Park we were treated to many amazing sites...
From Elk grazing, mountain goats and sheep meandering along the road, to icefields, giant mountains, and raging waters....
Such a wonderful time showing the girls the beauty of our country!

Athabaska Falls, a 23 metre long waterfall.....white water rafting anyone? I don't think so.

Columbia Ice Fields....

Picture perfect...

What a great sheet of ice....just imagine ice skating. Thalia climbed on the field with her Daddy, and saw the prettiest light blue cravases....

Brrrr it sure it cold! Does anyone have a hot chocolate??

Lake Louise to Radium Hotsprings......

A treat for tired campers

After many nights sleeping in a tent we decide to treat everyone to a warm and cozy bed, nevermind having proper baths! We ended up rolling in rather late in the evening so we stayed at Manning Park Lodge..

Three bears in the bed and the little one said......roll over I'm squished.....

Feeding the resident ground squirrels...

The Vancouver Zoo

On the last day of our family roadtrip we went to the Vancouver Zoo. We spent about 6 hours looking at all the animals. We saw everything from black bears to camels. We even saw a smiling Hippo!

Happy Anniversary to us......

So it has been one year, I can't believe it! .. A year ago today we were all slapping on the sunscreen and sucking back the water, it was sooo hot, and well today it looks like its the rain gear and hot chocolate! ..So what do we have planned for our first anniversary? Well not a fancy dinner, or revisiting our honeymoon hide-away, but in true Armstrong Gang fashion we are on a family road trip! Camping through BC and Alberta, everyone is looking forward to our wonderful journey. Look back in a few weeks for some photos, until then take care and lets hope we have some summer weather for our camping adventure!
Lots of love. The Armstrong Gang.

Beat the heat....

On the weekend Uncle Steve brought an inflatable pool over to my mom and dads place, and since today was so warm I decide to take a little dip with Eden. She most definitely is a water baby! Enjoy the photos of Eden and Mommy splashing in the pool. Oh by the way Eden is now 11 weeks old...

oh the expression...

As I flip through the photos I can't help but giggle at all the various expressions Eden gives us....just wanted to share with all of you too!! Enjoy!

Every time Thalia sees this one she says, "Awwwww she looks so sad", "she's soo cute".

and this could be my favorite, well maybe just for this moment....

On your marks get set............

GO!
The Armstrong gang spent most of the Canada Day long weekend out at Grandpa Tony and Grandma Sue's place. We had BB Q's, roasted marshmallows, did yard work, played in a small pool, but most of the time was spent racing the new mini moto. Heath and the girls carved out a little track around and through the fields, then they would time each other to see who could make the fastest time. I saw nothing but great big smiles and grins and lots of squeaky voices as they told their excited version of how the ride went.....

Thalia was her usual self....comical as can be. In the photo below she is pretending to be a little old lady of 999,999 years of age, and trying to sell us some fur!!!

On her marks....get set.....smile.....

Daddy and Samantha, watching as Alyssa tries to beat Samantha's best time.

She's coming over the last hurdle before hitting the finish line!!!!

It's not halloween yet!!!

I'm not too sure but I think Samantha might be a photographer and or a fashion designer in the making. Look what she came up with the other night. She asked if she could play with Eden for a while.....little did I know what she really meant..

Meet our prehistoric cave girl....

She slowly creeps out of her cave, searching for someone to play with....

Sweet little girl....

Look what they are doing to me......

I just can't help taking photos of her......luckily the girls like to just as much as me!! Well almost all of the girls. I think Miss Eden would have rather been doing something else....

but after a couple shots, she decided to give us a great pose!

Another year flys by....

This last week has been a busy, all the girls have had end of the year school activities. Swimming, waterslides, bubble day, fun days, BBQ's and recognition ceremonies.

First was Alyssa's ceremony where she received recognition for outstanding performance for English Eight as well as academic excellence and effort awards. Next came Samantha, who received recognition for completion of grade six late french immersion and a certificate for something I just can't translate what it was for since it is all in French! Finally, Thaila received recognition for her hard work and positive attitude.

A wonderful year for all, now it's time for them to enjoy their well deserved summer break. As of right now the new year looks like this: Alyssa grade 9 Dunsmuir, Samantha grade 7 John Stubbs late french immersion, and Thalia grade 4 Savory. Nice work girls we are very proud of you!!!
